1- CREATIVE WRITING
Imagine you're Ray's mother the day that the doctors told you that your son was going to be blind.
How did you feel? What were you going to tell your son? What changes were you going to make in your life?
Write the page of the diary you wrote that night expressing everything
that went through your mind that terrible day.

2- CREATIVE WRITING
Imagine you're Ray Charles. You lost your sight when you were a child, so you don't have any images of the world as an adult. But you are a charismatic person and you fell in love with a girl whom you have never seen.
Write about your sensations of being in love. Write about the girl you are attracted to, but remember you're blind and you have never seen her.
How do you feel? What are your sensations of  love? How do you describe this feeling?
Try to be as imaginative as you can! Remember you cannot use images or colors!!

3- PROJECT WORK
CREATE A POSTER WITH RAY CHARLES' TIMELINE
Surf the web or an read an encyclopedia to find Ray Charles' most important events in his life.
Write down the dates and the event that happened that day or that year. In groups of four,  create a long poster with Ray's timeline marking clearly the milestones in his life. Insert photos or draw your own images of those events. Make it nice and original in format, colors and design.
 The best timelines will be hung up in the English Classroom!

It is an association for blind people in the US and Braillebug is their mascot helping
blind childrend wiht activities and information. Helen Keller was an important woman because she founded  this foundation. You can read about her life and even ask questions to her great-grand niece!
 Write to the association and ask them about the activities they have for blind people in the area of Georgia. Can you think of any questions about them that might interest you? Ask about them in your email and report your information to the class.

Find information in the World Wide Web about Ray Charles. For example, you can find data about his music, records or other topics that are not mentioned in the film. Then create a poster with this information and hang it up on the classroom walls.

6- POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
Create a powerpoint presentation entitled RAY. In this presentation you have to include a minimum of 6 slides with different photos of Ray Charles, and in addition to it you must write THREE THINGS that you have learnt with the life of Ray Charles. They can be lesson from his life, attitudes to follow, or on the other hand, weaknesses that you must avoid.  What values have you learnt with this movie?
