THE SYNOPSIS OF BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

In 1970 London, Farrokh (Freddie) Bulsara, an Indian refugee from Zanzibar, works at Heathrow Airport and lives with his parents and sister. After seeing the band Smile performance at a pub, Freddie encounters Mary Austin and meets the drummer, Roger Taylor, and guitarist, Brian May. Their lead singer just quit singing, so Freddie offers to join them and demonstrate his singing talent. After that, Freddie and Mary begin a love relationship that will grow along with the band’s success.

With Freddie as the lead singer and bassist John Deacon, the band sells out gigs across Britain. Freddie urges them to think bigger, and they sell their van to book Trident Studios to record their debut album. A representative from EMI Records watches the band experiment, and asks for their demos. Then they sign with John Reid, Elton John’s manager, and receive a contract with EMI. Freddie changes the band's name to Queen and legally changes his name to Freddie Mercury. An appearance on Top of the Pops* gives Queen a hit record, "Killer Queen”.
After touring to promote the album, Mary and Freddie become engaged. The album hits the charts in America, and the band embarks on a sold-out U.S. tour, where Freddie questions his sexuality. In 1975, Queen records their fourth album, “A Night at the Opera”, but leaves EMI when executive Ray Foster refuses to release the operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody” as the album's lead single due to its six-minute length. The song, despite mixed reviews, becomes a smash hit.

On Queen's world tour, Freddie begins an affair with Paul Prenter, the band's day-to-day manager after an encounter between the two while Freddie rehearses "Love of My Life". Freddie comes out to Mary as bisexual, although she assures him he is gay. They end their engagement, but they continue to remain as friends, and she moves next door when he purchases an extravagant house in 1980.
Tensions arise in the band as Freddie sinks into debauchery with the manipulative Paul Prenter. After a lavish party, Freddie meets Jim Hutton, a waiter, and the two chat and share a kiss. Jim tells Freddie to find Jim when he learns to like himself. At a press conference promoting Queen's 1982 album “Hot Space”, reporters bombard Freddie with questions about his personal life, and that infuriates him.
Freddie's desire to diversify into other genres of music, like disco and party music, creates a conflict with the band. Paul Prenter enlists John Reid to propose Freddie a solo career without the rest of the group, but Freddie fires Reid.

The group dissolves, and Freddie and Paul Prenter move to Munich where they enroll on a journey mixing success, drugs, alcohol, and orgies, which make Freddie increasingly ill. Mary urges him to return to the band, as they could play in Live Aid*, a benefit concert at Wembley Stadium.

Top of the Pops: also known as TOTP, is a British music chart television programme, made by the BBC.

Live Aid: was one of the most monumental stage shows in history. It was a huge event staged simultaneously at the Wembley Stadium in London and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia. Thanks to an unprecedented decision by the BBC to clear its schedules for 16 hours of rock music, the event was also broadcast live in the UK on television and radio.
