The buried memories of the Spanish Civil War are unearthed as a woman, Ariadna, searches for the remains of her grandfather's father and discovers the story of Antoni Benaiges, an idealistic young teacher from Tarragona. In 1935 Benaiges was destined to a small village in the province of Burgos, introducing innovative and inspiring teaching methods among the children before being murdered by Falangists during the Civil War. The film is based on the book Desenterrando el silencio: Antoni Benaiges, el maestro que prometió el mar de Francesc Escribano.

These interactive activities are an educational initiative of the Terrassa City Council, through the Municipal Board for Education, and of a team of teachers at Torre del Palau Secondary School in this city. Their goal is to promote the use of new technologies in the classroom.
From the school year 2011-12, these interactive activities can be found on our website www.cinemaperaestudiants.cat with the aim of offering another educational tool for all those teachers and students who are interested in them.
