Arbitrage
Media:
The financial crisis focused on the social and personal sinking of one of its protagonists; a film that could be appropriate to work in the area of Economics with students at Sixth Form.
Arbitrage is another thriller that deals with the subject of the current financial crisis. It takes as its starting point the life of a prestigious tycoon and his apparently happy family existence (Richard Gere plays an excellent role). But the audience gradually assists, through a good management of times in the script, to the intimate and professional collapse of the character.
Despite the huge effort of the protagonist to keep up appearances in all aspects of his life at any cost, they inevitably yield to such an extent that a man who is seen as an example of success and a social model will become an object of derision. It is a fascinating film the rhythm of which does not decrease at any time, except in its analysis of the causes of the financial crisis.
