Khumba, a diferent zebra
Media:
Khumba is a zebra who had the misfortune to be born different from other zebras: his beautiful stripes only cover half of his body. This characteristic has earned him the scorn and marginalization by the group to which he belongs. They also blame him for the drought plaguing them since he was born. But Khumba does not resign to be the object of ridicule from their peers. The solution will be in the hands of his friend the rabbit. He tells Khumba that, according to legend, far away from savannah they dwell, there is a beautiful landscape with a magic well. Its waters were what drew the lines of zebras when they immersed in it. Despite his young age, Khumba would not think twice and decide to hit the road.
In this long journey of initiation, a flamboyant ostrich and a wild ox will accompany him and will help in adverse times. Together they will know a number of the most bizarre animals, as the wicked one eye tiger or the black eagle which is white in fact. They will also discover magnificent scenery with beautiful colours they had never imagined.
In addition to being pleased with Khumba adventures, the story conveys a series of values that are very appropriate for young audiences. So, the film talks of the importance of self-improvement, willpower and the idea that differences or peculiarities are positive. It is also a good example of the path to personal growth and growth in the face of adversity.
This South African production has a script influenced by its folklore. It also uses an artwork that will not leave indifferent to any children.
I would like to make a special mention of the nice presentation that the Spanish distributor made at the press premiere, with a kind speech before the screening and the presence of some people dressed as animals of the film that kids enjoyed at the end. It was a nice surprise. Congratulations!
