Miles From Anywhere (Au cul du loup): finding happiness in everyday simplicity
Media:
This is a story that breathes sincerity, simplicity and emotion, a film that shows that there is no need for special effects, sophisticated characters and complex scripts to make a good movie.
Christina, almost thirty, works in a restaurant and begins to feel overwhelmed by her mediocre life. When her grandmother dies, she inherits a house in the mountains of Corsica. Her family tries to convince her to sell the house, but she refuses. She wants to understand why her grandmother bought that land and decides to leave and discover it on her own. After a difficult journey, she comes across a clapped-out property. It is surrounded by a stunning landscape but lost in the middle of nowhere. This inheritance will give her the opportunity to put into question the monotony of her life and will turn her life, and that of those close to her, upside down.
The film talks about how valuable to follow your heart is despite the pressures coming from outside; about the need that sometimes pushes you to break with the past and about the evidence that happiness is just in everyday simplicity: we have to appreciate it.
