Zero Dark Thirty
Media:
Interesting film that shows the whole process that CIA followed to locate and capture Osama Bin Laden. Led by the star (Jessica Chastain) we attend, without cloying sentimentality, unnecessary violence or patriotism, to a physical and emotional journey where the director does not intend to perform a political analysis of the facts but only stating how they happened in reality.
A reality that is neither friendly nor comprehensible because on more than one occasion methods of torture are used to get information on the terrorist group and some of its members. These scenes have just been the object of some critical voices which have not hesitated to denounce them as an acceptance of torture against terrorist war. But as the director said, the criticism should go against those who ordered such unlawful conducts and not against the artist who has reflected them in his work.
Through the film, we are witness of the many contradictions and uncertainties that the people involved in the various operations had to face, the high risk hanging over their lives and the many obstacles that the protagonist had to fight so that CIA takes into account her thesis on Bin Laden hideout. All this makes us believe what is happening on the screen if we consider the events only through a political rather than an ideological analysis.
